Can I Leave Learning Numeracy to my Child's to School ?

The Numeracy your child learns at school does not end at school the school gate. Numeracy is part of everyday life.

If you point out things to do with Numeracy to your child and talk about them, your child will become more and more 'comfortable' with Numeracy.

Children don't enjoy what they don't understand or see the point of. You are vital link what your child learns at school and how they apply it.

Isn't it Easier to get my Child a Numeracy Tutor ?

Parents are turning to tutors more and more for younger children.

Using tutors is an expensive option starting at £15 per hour.

Using tutors in these early years when your child is 'learning how to learn' means they can become over dependant on a tutor for learning, only to really struggle when one is not available.

There are some practical problems with using a tutor too. A tutor might be used for one hour a week but that hour may not be the same time your child is most receptive to learning. You are in a better position to get the timing right of your child's learning, and you can do this in short periods over a day.

I Can't get my Child to Leave Their Games Console to do some Numeracy. Help!

This is a common cry.

There's a sad pattern developing in children... poor Numeracy and Literacy skills but expert gaming skills.

Thankfully, some parents have worked out ways on managing this problem. Infact there is a simple way that you can use your games console to actually encourage them in their learning!
