Build Your Own 3D Shapes

A great way for your child to get a deeper understanding for 3D shapes is to build one!

Making a solid object from a flat piece of paper will provide your child a valuable chance to understand 3D shapes better.

Construction is a little tricky so be prepared to do most of the work, explaining as you go.

To construct this cube, click here for the template (PDF format) and then print it. The instructions are included on the printout itself.

If you can't view the cube template, download the free Adobe Reader from here.

Some ideas for what you could do with the cubes are -

  • Draw you own design on the cube template
  • Make your own dice
  • Build models by gluing cubes together
If you built the cube, well done !

As a bonus, you can also make a pyramid from paper. To construct the pyramid, click here for the template (PDF format) and then print it.
