Choose a learning age
Match pairs - cards.
Build up vocabulary.. say why important... coz if the child does not know v many then how can they read word ?
Build concentration skills... jigsaw, quiet house... does the TV need to be on ?
Get used to talking stories.
Take a book with you when you go out.
Talk about the books you have read.
Read stuff on cereal packets, show them words are everywhere. Say one do soon they will be able to start reading :)
Show them there are different types of books.
Show them how the lib is organised.
