alking with your child is a natural and effective way for your child's
listening and speech to develop.
Make it your goal to explain things to your child
to help them understand the world around them.
As well as building their general knowledge, they will be learning a lot about listening and talking.
More more you explain, the more they will understand and the better they will listen and the more advanced their speech development will be.
Encourage Your Child's Questions
Take the time to answer their questions as properly as you can. If possible stop what you are doing and give them an answer or let them know you'll answer them as soon as you are able to.
Doing this can use a lot of your energy, however in doing so, be confident your child's understanding, vocabulary and language development will dramatically improve.
Let your child know you enjoy talking with them. Praise them when they show thought.
Remember to correct your child in a positive way, for example rather than saying "No, that's wrong..." you could say "OK. Actually I think..."
