A Very Useful Prop to Help Your Child Learn the 'Letter Sounds'
T
o help you teach the Letter Sounds (normally known as 'Synthetic Phonics') to your child
you will need a Letter Sound poster or Letter Sound frieze.
You'll be using the item a lot with your child !
You probably know the children's game I-Spy,
here we update it to help children think about Letter Sounds !
Playing "Letter Sound I-Spy" will help your child become confident with letter sounds !
Many parents say playing this game really helped their child with learning the Letter Sounds in a fun way.
Simply play as normal I-Spy,
but instead of saying the letter name, say the Letter Sound.
You child chooses something that both of you can see,
and says the first Letter Sound of the word.
The best way to teach your child this game is if you be the 'spy' first,
and explain as you so with examples.
