Play and Learn: 'Collect Letter Sounds'

A Game for Your Child Using 'Letter Sounds' When You Are Out

B ringing learning into everyday life and through playful activities is one of the core ideas behind EasyStreetLearning.

This is a very successful way to do just that with Letter Sounds.

Whenever you are out and about with your child you can play this game we call 'Collecting Letter Sounds'.

Ask your child to show you whenever they find Letter Sounds they recognise. This is a game to play when they are learning their Letter Sounds, that will help them recognise what the Letter Sounds look like.

Remember, at this stage it's the letter 'sounds' that are important not the letter 'names'.

You can change the game rules depending on how well yoiur child knows their Letter Sounds, for example -

Ask them to find a specific Letter Sound

Ask them to find any Letter Sound they know

Ask them to see if they can find a target number of Letter Sounds, eg. 10 whilst you are out.
