Time for Rhyme and Serious Fun

T he importance of rhyme in language development is all too often under-estimated by parents.

Rhyme plays a significant role in helping children become comfortable, enthusiastic and ultimately skillful in language.

The repetition of sounds has a rhythmical and musical effect which children really enjoy.

The importance of rhyme is also indicated by it's presence in every culture and language for countless generations.

Simple rhymes are perfect for babies. They are another great way to bond and have fun with your baby.

Here are a few rhymes that are particularly worth knowing.

'Round and Round The Garden' -

Round and round the garden, (with your finger draw circles on your babies hand)
Like a teddy bear,
One step,
Two step,
Tickle you under there (tickle)
